In September 2003, Crown Equipment gained accreditation as a Registered Training Organization (RTO) to deliver traineeships primarily in the areas of Transport & Distribution. The Australian Federal Government developed traineeships in response to the needs of industry with the formation of Training Advisory Boards. Key players from the relevant industry areas and educational bodies developed courses that specifically focused on addressing occupational health and safety issues as well as the up-skilling of the workforce.
The RTO endorsement enables Crown to issue nationally accredited qualifications throughout Australia in the areas of:
- Warehouse and Storage
- Transport Administration
- Road Transport
- Frontline Management
- Workplace Assessor
These courses were selected as being complementary to the existing forklift operator training and licensing programs offered at the Crown Training Center.
The majority of the above RTO courses are government funded and have been structured to assist in meeting industry needs to reduce the incidence of workplace accidents. Additionally, they have been designed to increase the skill levels of Australian workers and assist in formalizing career paths.
