Fuel Cells Hydrogen fuel cells may prove to be a distinctively ecologic™ opportunity for Crown customers. Because hydrogen fuel cells are capable of eliminating all air and noise pollution generated by a combustion engine, they are a particularly lift-truck-compatible technology. Accordingly, Crown has spent years investigating this emerging energy source at our Fuel Cell Research Center near Dayton, Ohio. In 2007, Crown began producing fuel-cell-powered lift truck prototypes in an effort to support those customers interested in adopting this new technology. Additionally, through the industry's original fuel cell qualification program, Crown has taken the guesswork out of fuel cells for our customers, enabling those who want to replace their traditional lead-acid batteries to do so without compromising safety or performance.
