 Crown Equipment Corporation’s vertical integration approach to designing, engineering and manufacturing lift trucks was the focus of a story appearing in a prominent national publication (September 2003).
IndustryWeek featured Crown in an article entitled "The Virtues of Vertical Integration". The article is centered on what the publication calls "an intense focus on design supported by vertically integrated manufacturing (that) gives Crown an edge in a mature market."
Editor-in-Chief Patricia Panchak interviewed Senior Vice President Don Luebrecht, Vice President - Design Center Mike Gallagher and Director of Marketing and Product Management Joe Ritter for the feature which appeared in the magazine’s "Best Practices" section.
Unusual in today’s trend toward outsourcing, Crown manufactures almost 85 percent of their final product.
