Crown Equipment Corporation fares exceptionally well in attracting business at major companies, which have warehouses and distribution centers in the United States.
Since Crown stands as the fifth largest manufacturer of forklifts in the world and is considered the number one brand of electric lift trucks in the United States, that's hardly a surprise. The percentage of those companies doing business with Crown, however, is impressive.
Ninety percent of the companies' listed on Warehouse Management's 'Big 50' list did business with Crown through truck purchases or service and parts activity in 2002.
The majority of companies listed on the Big 50 are retailers. They represent more than 810 million square feet of warehouse and distribution center space. This is an increase of more than 73 million square feet from 2001. The top 10 companies, of which nine use Crown products, utilize more than half of that square footage.
Crown products and services were also prevalent among the Top 20 Refrigerated Warehouse and Distribution Companies. The latter listing was based on 2002 North American figures released by the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses. More than 85 percent of the companies appearing in this ranking did business with Crown in 2002.
The company's full product line includes manual propelled pallet trucks and stackers, power pallet trucks and stackers, sit-down and stand-up counterbalanced lift trucks, narrow-aisle reach trucks, very narrow-aisle turret trucks, and order picking equipment. A global dealer network featuring more than 30 U.S. factory owned branches and over 100 independent dealer locations support Crown products in North America. |
