TSP 6000 Honored with iF Product Design and GOOD DESIGN™ Awards
Crown Equipment Corporation continues to win international acclaim for the design of the TSP 6000 Series Turret Stockpicker. The TSP 6000 has earned the prestigious, global iF product design award and the GOOD DESIGN™ award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. The awards are the latest recognition for Crown’s revolutionary approach to turret stockpicker design.
“We’re honored to be recognized by our peers,” said Crown Vice President – Design Center Mike Gallagher. “Most importantly, our customers are finding the design of the TSP 6000 is yielding a productive difference in their business.”
Crown designers learned that operator tasks have become unique, differing not only between customers, but also in the sequence of tasks between operators within a warehouse. Addressing this range of tasks in a single truck demanded unprecedented flexibility in the TSP 6000’s design.
“In very narrow-aisle applications, flexibility means productivity,” said Crown Senior Marketing Product Manager Matt Ranly. “The three-wheel design of the TSP 6000 offers tight turning radiuses. It’s designed to perform a multitude of tasks throughout the warehouse including picking, transporting and staging.”
“Everything about the TSP was created to enhance operator confidence, efficiency and quality of life,” said Mike Gallagher. “We achieved these goals by including components to the TSP such as the ability to blend multiple tasks simultaneously, the MoveControl™ seat that swivels to four different positions for optimum flexibility, plus the Mono-Mast that is designed to minimize twisting and swaying.
“We’re proud the TSP 6000 is continuing the Crown legacy of ever increasing innovative design that meets our customers’ demanding needs for reliable lift trucks that enhance their bottom line.”
These latest honors add to Crown’s impressive list of more than 50 product design awards, unmatched in the material handling industry. In the latest Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) competition, co-sponsored by BusinessWeek, the TSP 6000 was recognized with a Silver IDEA award – making it one of only 65 products to earn a Gold or Silver IDEA from the nearly 1,500 entries.
