Crown Equipment, one of the world’s leading forklift manufacturers, recently participated in the combined trade shows of CeMAT Asia and PTC Asia at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. CeMAT Asia is geared toward material handling professionals, while PTC Asia targets the power transmission industry.

Show officials reported that more than 47,000 attendees from 50 countries visited the two shows and exhibitor attendance grew by almost 1,700 exhibitors. Attendees had an opportunity to view 14 different Crown lift trucks, including the Crown TSP 6000 Series Turret Stockpicker and the Crown RD 5200S Series Double Reach Truck.

“The show was a great opportunity for Crown to gain exposure to the Asian market and provide a first-hand look at the exceptional product design, engineering and manufacturing exhibited by our products. We were extremely happy with the quality of visitors and the reception our products had with these material handling professionals,” said Joe Ritter, Crown Managing Director – Commercial Operations, Asia.

While Crown has had a strong and successful presence in the Southeast Asia market for many years, the company launched a new advertising campaign in China in September 2009 to support brand and product awareness within the local market. 

“While Crown products and services are well known in most parts of the world, the Crown brand is not as well recognized within the local China lift truck industry,” said Ritter. “Participating in the CeMAT expo and releasing a new print advertising campaign were important marketing initiatives for introducing the Crown brand into the local China market.”

Crown started manufacturing and sales operations in Suzhou, China in 2006. The company manufactures several of its smaller product models in the 150,000-square-foot facility. Crown also has manufacturing operations in the United States, Australia, Germany and Mexico.
