Effective February 23, 2013:

  • the ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 standard regarding personal fall protection has changed.
  • Personal fall protection equipment is now based on operator weight. Please refer to the chart below or the Product Information Bulletin 13-01-01 for additional information.

(1) Truck Capacity shall be reduced by the operator(s) weight of 220 lb.
(2) Self-Retracting Lanyard shall be rated for the operator's weight. Contact truck manufacturer.

 

Examples:


A person weighing less than 220lbs may use:

  • Body Belt with a self-retracting lanyard
  • Full Body Harness with an energy absorbing lanyard (6 ft)
  • Full Body Harness with a self-retracting lanyard

A person weighing between 220 and 310lbs may use:

  • Full Body Harness with an energy absorbing lanyard (6 ft)
  • Full Body Harness with a self-retracting lanyard

A person weighing between 311 and 400lbs may use:

  • Full Body Harness with a self-retracting lanyard
