What is it?
By combining technology and innovation, Crown designers and engineers developed the Variable Side Stance, greatly impacting the entire material handling industry.
Introduced by Crown in 1972, Variable Side Stance changed the industry’s view on operators’ work area for reach and three-wheel counterbalanced rider lift trucks. Today it’s regarded as the industry standard by lift truck manufactures.
Variable Side Stance allows operators improved visibility and additional comfort, eliminating the need to transition repeatedly between fore and aft stance.
Operators are positioned comfortably and safely, instead of being forced to travel with their hands on the controls behind them or twist their upper bodies to see where they are going. Since the location of the controls and the pedals remains constant relative to the operator, truck control is more intuitive.
