Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
Course Overview
This full certificate program is suitable for experienced or inexperienced operators of Aerial Work Platforms. The program may be tailored to address the specific needs of each application as required.
Course Content
Theory: 4-hour session
- Review recent accidents and cause
- Explanation of current legislation and standards
- Safe work environment (signs, barriers, pylons, pedestrian safety)
- Pre-operational inspection of machine
- Protective equipment inspection (harness/lanyard)
- Engineering design (stability factors, outriggers)
- Safe operating procedures
- Fuel source (battery and propane)
- Summary
- Written test
Practical: One operator per session
These sessions are for newer operators and are conducted in actual work environment when possible. Require up to a half hour per person, depending on application.
