Forklift: Recertification
Course Overview
This program is designed for experienced lift truck operators that have been previously certified and require a renewal of their certificate to comply with CSA Standards and Guidelines. This half-day program provides recertification for up to three types of equipment.
Course Content
Theory:
- Introduction (review of recent accidents, importance of training)
- Explanation of legislation, standards and guidelines
- Engineering principles of design (stability)
- Pre-operational inspection (in-class and on-floor)
- Safe operating guidelines
- Pedestrian safety
- Fuel source (propane and battery)
- Summary
- Written test
Practical:
These sessions are conducted in the actual work environment where possible.
- Pre-operational check
- Starting, stopping, steering
- Accurate maneuvering
- Loading/unloading
- Proper load placement
- Fuel source (battery/propane)
- Competency test
