Crown is launching its new WJ 50 Series compact pallet truck. Weighing just 159.5 kilograms including the battery for the 1.2 t model and 162.5 kilograms for the 1.5 t model, this lightweight electric pallet truck is capable of easily handling loads up to 1,500 kilograms. Thanks to its compact design and exceptional manoeuvrability, the WJ 50 Series sets new standards for use in confined spaces. With an industry-leading head length of just 370 millimetres and a turning radius of just 1,319 millimetres, the pedestrian pallet truck is ideal for use in areas where space is at a premium. The ergonomic design and the coordinated 48V system also significantly increase efficiency.
The WJ 50 Series is particularly suitable for truck transportation and kerbside deliveries, as well as for use in wholesale and retail. The comprehensive ‘3-2-1 warranty package’, unique on the market, includes a three-year warranty on chassis and forks, two years on batteries, and one year on the main components.
When operators use pallet trucks in their daily tasks, they can encounter a wide variety of challenges, including confined spaces, narrow doors and elevators, inconsistent aisle widths and floors of different types. Crown has therefore developed the WJ 50 Series for conditions, where size, weight and performance are crucial.
‘With the WJ 50 Series, we offer a powerful alternative to manually operated pallet trucks. It combines robustness, manoeuvrability, and ergonomics and enables operators to work more efficiently and achieve more in less time. This is also confirmed by the positive feedback from our customers, who have already subjected the truck to intensive practical tests. They particularly praised the precise handling and comfortable driving experience as well as the robust design, which comes into its own in demanding applications,’ explains Christian Peter, Marketing Product Manager at Crown.
Durable, manoeuvrable and highly comfortable
The WJ 50 Series compact pallet truck, developed and produced by Crown, stands for exceptional robustness, a standard of Crown forklifts. Instead of plastic, Crown uses sturdy steel covers that protect the sensitive components. This helps minimise the need for spare parts and repair costs. At the same time, the enclosed design and protective skirt contribute to safe operation and protect the operator.
The shortest head length in the industry and vertical tiller drive make this truck ideal for use in confined spaces. The Crown specific, ergonomic control handle with optimally accessible, intuitive forward/reverse and lift/lower controls enables precise operations even in the vertical tiller position. Furthermore, the WJ 50 Series can be easily manoeuvred with one hand, guaranteeing optimum load handling in confined spaces.
An extensive range of Work Assist accessories increases operator comfort and productivity. From holders for scanners, tools, or papers to shelves for personal items, – the WJ 50 Series can be transformed into a customised mobile workstation.
Sustainable energy efficiency through smart battery management
Equipped with a V-Force 48-volt lithium-ion battery, the WJ 50 Series compact pallet truck offers impressive energy efficiency, which significantly helps to reduce the total cost of ownership. Energy consumption is 39 percent below the market average. Four different battery options with capacities ranging from 9.8 Ah to 24.5 Ah are available to meet a wide range of requirements and ensure excellent flexibility. Each battery can be charged either with the onboard charger or in combination with V-Force chargers, which simplifies operation and ensures uninterrupted work processes. A learning algorithm adapts the remaining runtime indicator on the display to different work cycles so that the operator always has an overview of the remaining runtime. Each battery is secured with an automatic locking mechanism and can easily be removed and inserted with one hand.
