Follow WH&S Procedures – Transport Blue Card

Objectives

This unit involve the knowledge and skills required to apply and follow WH&S procedures in the workplace with relevance to the transport industry. Including identifying and following workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control. Contributing to arrangements for the management of Workplace health and safety and completing OH&S records.

Persons achieving competence in this unit will need to also fulfil all of the relevant State/Territory OHS regulatory requirements.

The main elements contained within this unit, are:

  • Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control.
  • Contribute to arrangements for the management of occupational health and safety.
  • Complete occupational health and safety records.

 

Course Prerequisites: None

Session Duration: 3-4 hrs

Groups: Maximum 8 participants per session.

Certification: Statement of attainment and issue of BlueCard

 

Course Content
  • Locate, interpret and apply relevant information.
  • Identify and follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control.
  • Contribute to arrangements for the management of OHS in the workplace.
  • Complete OHS records as required and maintain workplace records.
  • Follow housekeeping procedures for different work areas, use relevant housekeeping tools and equipment.
  • Dispose of waste materials including segregation of particular wastes and specialist requirements.
  • Apply principles of reduction, re-use, recycle, recover and appropriate repair/replace decision making processes.
  • Interpret reasons for maintaining clean and tidy worksites, the tagging of unserviceable tools and equipment and following housekeeping and maintenance schedules
  • Complete housekeeping inspection requirements when required.
  • Communicate effectively with others on workplace safety matters; convey information in written and oral form.
  • Use workplace colloquial and technical language and communication technologies in the workplace context.
  • Follow the requirements of relevant legislation and related Codes of Practice in relation to individual obligations for duty of care.
