NEW BREMEN, Ohio (June 30, 2023) – Crown Equipment, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, was recently chosen by Inbound Logistics as a Green Supply Chain Partner for 2023. The award acknowledges companies that excel in ensuring their global supply chains are sustainable and that their operations are socially and environmentally friendly, leaving a positive footprint on the world.
The recipients of the annual G75 Partners are selected based on proficiency in four benchmark areas, including measurable green results, sustainability innovation, continuous improvement and industry recognition. Each recipient must display involvement and dedication to these factors to be considered for the annual recognition.
“From the sustainability of our products and manufacturing processes to our company culture, Crown continues to be environmentally conscious,” said Tonja Gray, Crown’s director of corporate environmental and manufacturing safety. “Being selected as a Green Supply Chain Partner recognizes the daily commitment of Crown employees around the globe to sustainable business practices.”
Crown makes continuous efforts to recycle and reuse materials, preserve natural resources, and reduce waste and energy consumption. Currently, Crown has six zero-waste-to-landfill status facilities. Many Crown lift trucks are given a second life through the company’s refurbishment programs and are 99% recyclable.
Crown has demonstrated sustainability to be a top priority for decades, targeting the three key areas of social, environmental and economic sustainability. By manufacturing up to 85 percent of the components used in our lift trucks, Crown achieves a level of environmental compliance difficult for outsourcing manufacturers to attain. Through vertical integration, we take control of our production processes – only manufacturing what is needed – to manage inventory with precision.
