Crown showcases technology advances at IMHX 2019

Crown takes trade show visitors on a digital journey through the world of customer-centric material handling solutions at the biggest event in the UK’s material handling calendar.

At IMHX 2019, which takes place from 24 to 27 September at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the company will be presenting its latest solutions and its broad portfolio of reliable products for safe, efficient and connected working in the warehouse at Stand J120 in Hall 19.

Interactive multitouch walls invite visitors on a digital journey of discovery at Crown’s booth, on which the company’s products and technologies can be explored in an almost playfull way. In a personal dialogue, the Crown experts also advise the trade audience on trending topics such as forklift connectivity, automation, fleet management technologies and lithium-ion technology.

Information on rental and used forklifts as well as service topics completes the range of consulting services. In addition, live product demonstrations complement the adventure trip through the world of forklift technology.

In addition, the focus is on Crown’s latest product: The new reach trucks of the ESR 1000 Series with lifting heights of up to 13.65 metres and load capacities of up to two tonnes are smart, powerful and reliable. With Crown’s newly developed Gena® operating system on board the ESR 1000 Series, advanced productivity and management features are now standard on the new reach truck generation. One of the truck’s key functions is the new Xpress Lower™ technology, which allows operators to work with skill and precision at any height without compromising productivity. Xpress Lower doubles lowering speed to increases productivity by up to 21% (controlled cycle comparison test), resulting in substantial savings in time and money. Operators, service and safety managers as well as warehouse managers also benefit from the trend-setting Gena operating system. Gena is intuitive, customisable, interactive and offers a whole new user experience.

Visitors will also get an overview of Crown’s complete product range: besides the compact, manoeuvrable and extremely lightweight WP 3010 electric pallet truck and the SC 6000 Series counterbalance forklifts, visitors can also find out about the fields of application of the QuickPick® Remote order picking technology, which has been tested in thousands of operating hours and has won several awards. The technology lets the operator move his truck to the next picking location via a remote control, which is incorporated into a special working glove. It is available for a variety of different applications, for example for the complete Crown GPC 3000 order picker series including the fork and scissor lift models.

Crown technology specialists will be present on the stand throughout the show, explaining more about these automated solutions, also including the TSP Series VNA trucks. These trucks feature an array of functions all designed to improve pick accuracy and efficiency within the warehouse.

Amongst these functions is Crown’s Auto Positioning System (APS), which utilises RFiD technology to identify the most efficient route to the stored product, helping to improve productivity rates by as much as 25%. The TSP Series’ optional Auto Fence helps promote safety by automatically slowing travel speed, stopping, or limiting lift height within the VNA based on the location of the truck.

The Crown stand will also feature a celebration of 20 years of the Wave®, the pioneering Work Assist Vehicle. During the last two decades the Wave has revolutionised warehouse operations, improving safety and efficiency by replacing ladders in all kinds of applications. There will be live demonstrations of the latest WAV 60, underlining why the applications for this versatile machine are virtually limitless.

If further proof were needed of Crown’s technological performance, then recognition by industry peers must surely be it.

The company’s design-led approach to its products has seen its work shortlisted in both The SHD Logistics Awards and BITA’s Design4Safety Awards. Winners of both competitions will be announced during the show.

Simon Barkworth, Managing Director UK, Crown Lift Trucks, said: “IMHX is the biggest exhibition in the UK material handling industry and one of the most important international trade fairs for the forklift industry and has always been a high priority for Crown. For this year’s show we have one of our strongest line ups ever.

“Crown presents brand new technologies, including the new ESR 1000 Series with its Gena operating system, which is making its UK debut. In addition to our solutions for more performance and efficiency in the warehouse, our consistent customer orientation is the main focus. In addition, we pick up the industry’s trend themes on various theme islands.”

Visitors to the Crown stand (Hall 19 – J120) will also have the chance to win an Apple Watch on each day of the show.
